THE SEASON HAS BEGUN!!!

Since the opening of the club, we have had to contend with less than favourable playing conditions, however, that has not stopped our members from playing at every opportunity.

Unfortunately, mother nature played havoc with our Meet The Pro Day on Saturday, May,14th. Due to a tight schedule at the club, this event cannot be rescheduled at this time.

Tennis lessons with Max and Nathan have been extremely popular! They are happy to see everyone so keen to improve their skills! Don’t forget that Max offers private lessons for a very reasonable fee. One on one, he is better able to cater his teaching to your specific needs, and take your play to that next level.

Attendance at the morning mixed doubles which began this month, has been outstanding. A new game begins every half hour starting as early as 8:00am with the last game ending at 10:00am. Players of all levels are encouraged to join in the fun!

The first night of ladies and mens doubles which began last week, was very successful. The new format received lots of positive feedback. Members must sign up by Monday and Thursday morning, for play the same evening. The club sets up the initial teams and match ups. Each half hour, players rotate to play with and against, someone new.

Finally, the 2011 Tennis League meets next week, on May 24th at 7:00pm. Everyone will find out that night, the schedule and which team they will play on for the duration of the league. Players are invited to stay and practise. The nine week schedule of competitive play, begins Tuesday, May 31st. There will be an early game with a 6:30pm start and a late game starting around 8:30pm, with the latter responsible for the evening’s refreshments. Each team will play the other teams 3 times. The playoff weeks will be the first 2 weeks of August.

Until the next time…. Nancy

WELCOME TO THE 2011 TENNIS SEASON!

Despite what we see outside, spring has arrived, and that means another great season of tennis is upon us. Bill has been very busy preparing the courts for the many enthusiastic players, who are patiently awaiting their chance to hit the clay once again. The club experienced a phenomenal 2010 year, and we hope to maintain or exceed those numbers this year.

We are very fortunate to have Max Besworth back again as our Club Pro. Please check out the pro’s page for an update on his terrific career. Bill, Nathan and Greg are returning as well, and are eager to continue providing you with topnotch service.

The official opening date is April 30th. Remember that you can save yourself some money on all 2011 memberships, by purchasing them on or before May 15th.

In closing, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the sunshine will soon prevail over that snow, permanently. See you soon on the courts!
